This project website relates to a proposed solar park development on land at Lochfauld Farm (to the East of Balmore Road), Glasgow. We are keen to gain the views of the community and local stakeholders and we would welcome any feedback you may have on the proposed development as we move towards submitting an application for planning permission in August. The applicant will be Derwent London Green Energy Ltd.

Solar power is one source of renewable energy which has an important role to play as part of the mix of sources required to meet national energy targets, in particular the Scottish Government’s target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045. The solar park will contribute towards these national targets and to reducing national CO2 emissions.

The site at Lochfauld Farm is not subject to statutory pre-application consultation due to the size and scale of development proposed. The project team has elected to carry out voluntary public consultation to share information about the proposals and allow stakeholders and the local community to provide feedback.

This website provides further information about the proposal and the benefits it will bring. The website will be available for viewing between 5th July 2021 and 30th July 2021 Feedback and comments can be provided throughout this period by email to caledoniansolarpark@iceniprojects.com or via the feedback form on this website.

Any comments must be received by no later than 30th July 2021.

Please note that comments made at this time are not representations to the Planning Authority. Once the planning application is submitted in August, there will be an opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposed development to Glasgow City Council.
